As the Christmas season is upon us, I’ve had seen several already starting to share this. It is completely true. As I thought on it, I dwelled on the fact that Jesus is the reason for everything every day. We have life because of Him, we are blessed because of Him, we have the opportunity of eternal life because of Him. Don’t misunderstand I’m not disagreeing or putting down anyone who shares this, but I also think we need to share it throughout the year. I applaud those who say Merry Christmas and not Happy Holidays, because we must keep the true meaning of Christmas. Without Jesus there would not be a Christmas and we, as parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles must teach our children, grandchildren the truth. It’s not enough to only take them to church so the Sunday school teacher can give the Christmas lessons, or the pastor in his sermons. It must start at home, in your everyday life because they do watch everything you do and say. So when you reflect the likeness of Jesus then you also teach them to reflect the same. When you shop for Christmas gifts, is it all about the commercialism and you must buy the absolute best and latest thing out there? Or is it about giving and receiving from the heart? Society and all these commercials have changed the way most look at Christmas, so it’s up to us to keep the true meaning of Christmas, Good Friday, Easter in our hearts and teach it to the next generation.
Jesus, my Savior please forgive me for the times I’ve allowed all of the shopping, commercials and running around fill my mind. When I lose focus on what Christmas is truly about. It’s about the birth of the most precious gift that mankind ever received. I don’t ever want to lose focus again. If I didn’t have You Lord, I would be so very lost and I would have nothing. Thank You Jesus for being willing to leave all the splendor of heaven to be born into this world. A world, a people, who You knew would reject You; yet You love so much that You came regardless.
