While standing out on a pier over the ocean you can feel small and insignificant when considering how big this world is. When everyone gets caught up in this world, it can leave a person feeling small and insignificant. Even though, we have times we feel that way it doesn’t have to be a bad feeling. Sometimes we need to consider and think about how big this world is and all the things that makes up this world. That can give you perspective. Sometimes we are shown how much we affect others or the world we live in. Consider this the next time you feel small and insignificant, each grain of sand moves at the will of the waves. It’s consistently being moved, affecting the ground we walk on, affecting the sea shore, affecting the animals around it. Without that little piece of sand the rest of the sand would have to make up for the one missing piece. If each piece felt small and insignificant and no longer thrived to do the will of the waves (God’s plan) then everything would be affected dramatically. Don’t let this world take those feelings and keep you from doing the will of the Lord. We are small when it comes to looking at this world in all its grandeur. But we are not small and insignificant when we look at our own world. We affect all the things and people around us. God moves through us to affect others in mighty ways. Be moved by the waves of the Spirit of the Lord. Be about the Father’s business, allowing God to use you as the sand, to make this world better for His glory. Just as the sand, we feel small, but just as the sand our witness, our job is a great work for God.
Lord God, there are times I truly feel insignificant but knowing You strengthen me when I’m doing the work You have for me gives me a sense of peace and happiness.
