I struggle to drink enough water. I’ve always sipped on a bottle of water versus drinking. I don’t usually gulp it down, even though I realize and know that it’s really good for my body, because I just prefer to sip instead of quenching the thirst that my body has. Until recently, I noticed that because my throat was dry, my body needed quenching, needed water, relief from the irritation that I have had in my throat. I began to drink the water versus sipping the water. This made me think about how too often we sip from the Living Water versus drinking the Living Water, versus gulping the Living Water. How often are we parched? How often are we dry? How often is our soul, our spirit, our mind, our body yearning for Living Water but yet we are too busy sipping, we are too busy taking in just enough to satisfy the moment of thirst rather than quenching our thirst. Just like regular water satisfies and helps the overall health of our bodies; our organs, our skin, our hair, every part of our body. The Living Water satisfies us entirely; our soul, our spirit, our mind, our body, our walk with God but yet we are too busy sipping. I want to be saturated my hair, my skin, my soul, my mind, my heart, my feet. I want to be fortified. I want to be prepared. I want to be fully drinking, gulping the Living Water, which is completely following Jesus Christ. I want my soul to be fully and completely satisfied in the Lord. He is the way, the truth, the life, the Living Water that can satisfy this longing, this thirst, this dryness, that we to often allow in our lives. What would happen to our bodies if we never gave it water? How would our organs be regenerated as the Lord created them? How would our bodies function without any water? If we never drank water at all, what would happen to our organs? What would happen to our skin? What would happen to our countenance? That glow about us, the joy, the happiness?  What about the stagnation that we get into because we don’t provide our bodies with the water needed? Now compare that to the stagnation that we allow in our walk. When we do not allow Living Water into our lives, into our souls, into our spirit, into our every day life, in our mind, our thinking, praying, reading, worshipping, praising His holy name in our church, in our services and our Sunday School classes. We must grow in the Lord, or we’ll become stagnant. Stagnant water decays, erodes, evaporates, and a layer of algae forms on top. Are you so stagnant in the Lord that your water is evaporating, has a layer of algae blocking out the Son, Jesus Christ? Or are you basking in the presence of the Lord, gulping that Living Water, praising His holy name, praying daily, worshiping Him, giving place for Him in your life. If you have become stagnant, dry, parched, and unsatisfied in your soul, desiring Living Water, then it’s my prayer that you run, don’t walk, but run to the Living Water. He is standing there, waiting, ready to quench that thirsting of your soul.

Lord Jesus, Please forgive me for the times I’ve sipped from the well of Living Water. Forgive me for the times that I’ve allowed my walk with You to become dry, parched and stagnant. I am grateful that You quenching that thirsting of my soul daily. Saturate my daily, O Lord!
