During a conversation with a sweet soul, we talked about being workers in God’s field, in His vineyard. How His Word has several parables about sowing and reaping, the separation of the wheat and the tares, and how God is the Husbandman and we are the workers in His field. We began to discuss the fact that there are so many rewards by allowing God’s Will in our lives that plants within others. As we are followers of Him, as we are fisher’s of men, as we are sowers in God’s field; we plant in many ways. Everyone that we plant a seed in, is planted in a different fashion because each person will receive the “seed” in a different way. We also talked about how there are so many who want to claim to be workers in the field but only want the “paycheck” without putting in the actual work. They want to make heaven their eternal home without witnessing to others, without true change and correction because they are uncomfortable with that. They want to gain access without putting forth the action. They want to say they are working, they are Christians, without clocking in, without actually giving over their lives to the Lord. They struggle to actually give up their will to God. They decided they can sit at home and draw a “check”. They can be about the Father’s business without clocking in. This gives a very conflicted aspect to being an actual Christian. Remember to be a Christian means to be Christ-like. Christ was about His Father’s business every second of everyday even in His youth. So how can we be lazy Christians when Christ is our example of how to be a hard-working, dedicated sower for God? Should the word lazy be used to describe any Christian?
Ladies and gentlemen, the word of God is clear, we cannot be His true workers without clocking in. We must be born again, we must have the blood of Jesus applied to our lives which immediately generates an obvious result – a complete change in us. We are not who we once were. We’ve clocked in and are now on the clock to get the Father’s business handled. We are only allowed the amount of time our life is allotted by God. We are not meant to waste time, to be lazy nor ignorant of our Father. Jesus is the true vine, God is the husbandman of the vineyard and we are the branches. If we are not producing good fruit, good growth and a righteous witness, then the Husbandman will prune us away from the branches that are producing righteousness. Why? Because He doesn’t want us to cause rot in the other branches. The same with your household plant. You plant it in good, healthy, fertile soil. You place it in an area of your home so it can obtain the best and most sunlight. You water it routinely and you prune away all leaves and branches that have rot in them. Those leaves and branches that show their colors (countenance) are changing as the rot begins to develop. If you did not prune them away that rot would continue to develop and affect further into the branches then into the entire plant. Then all is lost. You do everything you can to protect the entire plant to always obtain its best growth for life. You are putting in the work, you are “clocked in”, you are reaping the rewards of putting in the work as your plant blossoms into a healthy plant. So let’s be workers who are actually clocked in and about the Father’s business. God isn’t asking you to beat people with the Bible, He is asking you to be the Christian He has fashioned you to be. Through your righteous witness, you’ll witness (plant) God into others. When people ask questions (needing Son light) answer them honestly, telling the complete truth (fertilizer) and what saith the word of God. Don’t be ashamed, don’t refrain from being who God called you to be, don’t be sayer and not a doer. Be clocked in. Actually strive to receive your just rewards in heaven. Laying up treasures in heaven is much more important than anything this world can offer.
Lord God, Please forgive me for the times that I have not been fully invested in Your vineyard, in Your field. I honestly desire to be completely exhausted from working in Your fields. I want to leave this life with nothing left to give to the kingdom of God. Here I am use me, Lord! I’ll go. I want pruning in my life. I want good growth, fruitful growth in my life. I want to be a help to others to grow closer to You. I want to be the best helpmeet that creates good growth in Matt. I want momma’s prayers for our son’s and their ladies to be heard. I want mamaw’s prayers to be heard for our granddaughters for their uncertain future. I want what You have for my life. To be a worker in the field who is clocked in.
