“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Rom 8:1-4 KJV

As I was studying these verses this morning, God revealed things to me and placed it on my heart to share. For all who are bought by the blood of the Lamb, there’s no condemnation for we walk after the Spirit and not the flesh. There’s no blame, reason for being condemned, no unrighteousness, because we choose to walk with a Godly heart and wisdom. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus set us free from sin and death, a law by which we are no longer bound. The law of the Spirit truly keeps us more “in-check” during our lives than any other law given. Why? Because the Spirit that dwells within each of us, within the temple of God, it convicts the soul, it troubles the heart of mankind, it guides the path, denies the temptation of the flesh. You may think how is that possible denying the temptation of the fleshy desires when mankind’s very intentions are to be fleshly. Well when we give our total heart and soul to the Lord, our old man or woman dies in the flesh. We are no longer given to the ways of the flesh. Our flesh can no longer dictate our path, our way of life or any form of the matter. We now walk in the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus who dwells within. Sin and righteousness cannot dwell in the same place. Therefore upon the invitation to the Holy Spirit to be a part of our lives, the fleshly desires are put off. As long as we walk in the Spirit allowing the conviction to mold and shape us, growing in the Lord and having true remorse if we fall short, we will continue in a Godly wisdom. It’s when we allow sin to take back over our lives that we fall back into the law of sin and death. Laws that weren’t meant for life, that won’t strengthen us, and will only lead us straight to an eternity of utter destruction. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the only law that can set us free, that can break all bondage, that can challenge us to lay up treasures in heaven were moth and rust can’t destroy. It is the only way, for Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life. He fulfilled the eternal promise God made to us; who walk not after flesh, but after the Spirit. 

Lord God, Thank You for opening my eyes and heart to a your understanding which helps me to stay the course. Forgive me for the times I get frustrated as I try to gain understanding and don’t allow You to open my mind. Help me to walk in the law in the Spirit, to always follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ and to be the Godly woman You instruct me to be.
