As I view and try to understand all of the latest events happening around our country, I have a new outlook on just how wicked Sodom and Gomorrah had to be in order for God, who created mankind in His own image, to say that is enough! Then proceeded to utterly destroy Sodom, Gomorrah and the surrounding cities from the face of the earth.

Again as I view and try to understand why our leaders push and push climate control, I have a new outlook on just how wicked this earth had to be when God sent the flood, destroying all living creatures of the earth minus those on the ark.

For both of these destructive events, there were warning signs, there were obvious reasons to pay attention and there were people who pushed vigorously to cause everyone to look away and not heed to the warning signs. For Sodom and Gomorrah, I am satisfied as we watch everything taking place in our country, we can relate in a way. Knowing there was only Lot and his family who lived for God out of how many people. Just as today God has a remnant of people. They most likely tried to tell the Jewish people about God (OT God was the God of Israel only) as they slowly transitioned to such lasciviousness, sexual immorality, fornication, idolatry and immoral destruction as they sinned against their own bodies. Year by year they progressed into such a decline in values and morals. It wasn’t something that happened over night. Throughout those years, there were warning signs that no one heeded too. People said, let them be who they want to be, let them love who they want to love and who are you to judge their choices. Lot was a man of God there to share the word of God and the word was clear. In the end, when the wickedness had become so unbearable God said that’s enough! Abraham begged God if there be 50 righteous, will You still destroy these cites. God responded, with no Abraham not for 50. Abraham asked all the way down to 10 if there be just 10 would You destroy these cities. God responded each time with no. Then God sent the two male angels to the city of Sodom, Lot saw them and compelled them to tarry at his house, eat and rest. Lot knew the men of the city would want (lasciviously desire) these two men. Lot was attempting to protect the angels (he saw all of the warning signs) to the point of offering his two virgin daughters to the men of the city when they came demanding the angels. Sadly only Lot and his two daughter escaped the destruction of these cities. One person saw and heeded to the warning signs and 3 people survived utter destruction.

For the entire earth, I am satisfied as we watch everything taking place in our country we can again relate in a way. Knowing there was only Noah, his wife, 3 sons and daughter in laws (8 people) who lived for God. Again God had a remnant. Noah did his best to compel the people that there was a flood coming. He warned them, told them and preached for many years. Throughout the years God sent many warning signs but the people ignored them. Maybe they claimed climate change. Maybe they said the earth is warming at a higher rate than it did 200 years before with no way to actually know when God created the earth. Maybe they said the polar caps are melting, if they even knew polar caps existed. Maybe they said water will fall from the sky then rolled their eyes and laughed as they made jokes. They made the choice to be so oblivious to the warning signs as Noah tried to tell them that they all missed the salvation of the Lord. They refused the warnings as Noah and his sons built the ark. They refused the warning signs and created “reasons” as to why all of the these different animals came through the land by twos; male and female. They refused the warning signs as they prayed to their idols, gods and images. Because all of these people refused the warning signs millions of people perished to their own sinful choices. When God said that’s enough!

So I ask, what warning signs are the people refusing today? What warning signs are the people making “reasons” to explain away? What warning signs are you willing to ignore so you can continue in your sin? Why do you refuse the warnings of God? He loves you and He wants you to accept salvation today so you can escape certain destruction. So you can escape when God says that’s enough! Son, go and get My children!

Lord God, I pray that I always pay attention and take heed to Your warning signs. I do not want to be left behind nor do I want to fall to sin. I want to be in Your Will all the days of my life. I pray for all of those who are making up reasons, excuses and lies to blind the masses. I pray for all of those who do not know Jesus as their personal Savior, who do not yet realize they won’t be able to escape certain destruction without You.
